Katherine Albert will try to lead her top seeded Northway Warriors over the second seeded Effie Kokrine Warriors. Effie Kokrine won the last matchup between these two teams by three in Tok. Shalene Huntington scored 16 points to lead the Effie Kokrine squad to a 50-41 win over Kenny Lake in their first game of the tournamnet. Katherine Albert scored 22 in Northway’s 54-36 win over Tri-Valley.

The final game of the day and of the Tri-Valley Invitational features another North Pole JV team. This time it is the boys squaring off against the Susitna Valley Rams in the boys’ finals. The finals are upon us. Two 2-0 teams battle it out in the women’s finals. The five woman Northway squad goes after the deep and talented North Pole JV girls.
Six more games remain in the Tri-Valley Invitational, including the girls and boys finals which will be played at 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm respectively.

On a day that included eight high school basketball games, it is only appropriate that the Tri-Valley Invitational would save the best for last. Tri-Valley defeated Cordova’s JV on the first evening of the tournament, and North Pole’s JV beat Cordova’s JV in their first game on Friday. The North Pole JV girls team was in search of a second win of the day and a trip to Saturday’s finals in the Tri-Valley Invitational. The North Pole and Cordova JV teams squared off in Friday’s fourth game at the Tri-Valley Invitational. It was the first of two games on the day for North Pole, they will play Tri-Valley later this evening. It was the second game in the tournament for Cordova.
